Melodash Terms of Service
Effective date: October 21, 2026 · Last updated: November 1, 2026
1. Welcome, and what these Terms are
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Narralife, LLC, a Nevada limited liability company ("Melodash," "we," "us" or "our"). They cover melodash.com, any Melodash apps, and everything you can do in them (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using Melodash, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Melodash.
The short version, for families
- Melodash is a music-practice game. Your real instrument is the controller, and practice brings the world of Cantara back to life.
- It was built privacy first. We collect as little as we can. Children never type their name or email address to play. Other players only ever see a made-up Stage Name and a drawn avatar.
- The app listens, it never records. Playing is analyzed on your own device to score notes and rhythm. Melodash never records anyone, at any age: no audio is ever saved, uploaded or sent to us.
- There is no chat. Players cheer each other on with a fixed set of kind reactions, and nothing else. A student's own teacher can leave them short notes about practice, which parents can read too.
- Melodash is free, and nothing in it is for sale. We never sell your information, and we never show ads to children or students.
- Parents and schools are in charge of children's accounts and can see, change or delete them at any time.
This summary is here to help. The full Terms below are what count.
Who may use Melodash
| Who | How they use Melodash |
|---|---|
| Children under 13 | Only through a teacher (class code and picture password) or through a profile a parent creates and consents to. A child under 13 may not sign up alone. |
| Teens 13 to 17 | On their own account, with a parent's or guardian's permission. A parent should read these Terms with them. |
| Adults 18 and over | On their own account, in the Adult division. |
| Teachers | With a school or institution email address, after we approve the account. |
| Parents and guardians | To create and manage their children's profiles and follow their practice. |
If you accept these Terms for a child, you accept them on the child's behalf and your own, and you are responsible for the child's use of the Service.
2. Built privacy first: our promises to you
Melodash was designed from the start for children and students. Privacy decided how the product works; it was not added afterward. These are binding promises.
- We collect as little as possible. Children under 13 sign in without an email address. For a child profile, a parent enters a birth month and year; we use it only to work out the child's age group (Junior, Teen or Adult) and do not keep it. We never ask a child for a name, home address, phone number, school, photo or location.
- No real names in front of other players. Every player appears only as a generated Stage Name (for example, Velvet Nocturne 57) and an avatar made of drawn parts, never a photo. If a teacher or parent records a child's real name, it is a private label that only that teacher or parent can see.
- Listening happens on your device. When Melodash listens to you play, the sound is analyzed on your own phone, tablet or computer to find notes, pitch and timing. That sound is not recorded, stored or sent to our servers. Only the results, such as a score, stars or minutes practiced, are saved.
- No chat and no friend requests. No player can type anything another player can see. The only written words a student receives from a person are short notes from their own approved teacher about their practice (see section 4). The student's parents can read them too, and students cannot reply.
- We never sell personal information, and we never share it for anyone else's advertising or marketing.
- No ads for children or students. Melodash shows no advertising today. We will never show ads in a child profile, a class-code student account or a school account, and never show ads targeted by behavior or profile to anyone under 18.
- No profiling of students for any purpose other than helping them practice. We do not send players' information to outside artificial-intelligence services, and we never use it to train outside AI models.
- Adults and children are kept apart. Players compete in Junior (under 13), Teen (13 to 17) and Adult (18 and over) divisions. An adult cannot react to a child unless the adult is that child's own teacher or parent.
- Nothing about any player is public. Someone who is not signed in sees no player information at all. No one can search for another player.
- Parents and schools stay in control. They can see what we hold about a child, turn features off, get a copy of the child's data and delete the account.
If we ever want to use information we already hold in a way these promises do not allow, we will ask first and get the consent the law requires. We will never apply such a change backward without it.
3. Children, teens and parental consent
Melodash is directed to children and follows the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Federal Trade Commission's COPPA Rule, including the amendments that took effect in 2025.
Children under 13
A child under 13 can use Melodash in only two ways.
- Through school. A teacher whose account we have approved creates a class and gives each student a login card with a class code and a picture password. No email address or name is collected from the child. Login cards work only once the school district has signed Melodash's student data privacy agreement, which authorizes Melodash for classroom use on parents' behalf (see section 4).
- Through a parent. A parent or legal guardian signs in with their own email address and creates a child profile. Before the profile is created, the parent confirms each consent statement. We then send a confirmation email to the parent's address that sets out what was agreed and includes a link to cancel consent at any time. This is the "email plus" method of verifiable parental consent that the COPPA Rule allows when a child's information is used only inside the service and not disclosed to others, which is how Melodash works.
If we learn that a child under 13 is using Melodash without school authorization or parental consent, we will stop that use and delete the information we collected.
What a parent can do at any time
- See what we hold about their child, and get a copy of it by writing to support@melodash.com.
- Change the child's settings, including whether the child appears on community boards, receives reactions or takes part in competitions at all.
- Read any notes the child's teacher has written to the child.
- Correct the child's age group if it was entered wrongly, in either direction, from the child's page.
- Cancel consent, using the link in the confirmation email or the delete button for the child's profile in Melodash. Cancelling deletes the child's profile and everything in it.
- Refuse to allow any sharing of the child's information with third parties. Melodash does not share it today; if that ever changes, we will ask parents separately first, and saying no will never cost a child access to the game.
To use these rights, sign in to your parent account or write to support@melodash.com. We may take reasonable steps to confirm you are the child's parent before acting.
Teens 13 to 17
Teens may create their own account with an email address or Google sign-in, with a parent's or guardian's permission. A teen's public identity is still only a Stage Name and avatar. Teens compete only in the Teen division, and adults cannot react to them.
Age information from app stores
Where the law or an app store gives us information about a user's age group or a parent's approval, we use it only to apply the protections in these Terms.
4. Schools and teachers
Teacher accounts
Teachers sign up with their school or institution email address, and a Melodash administrator approves each teacher account before it can create classes. You may only create a class for students you actually teach.
School agreements
A teacher's own word is not enough to share students' school records with an app: the school district has to agree in writing. So before a district's students can use Melodash through their school, an official of the district who is authorized to sign agreements signs Melodash's Student Data Privacy Agreement (a teacher sends it to them from Melodash), and Melodash checks the signer before the agreement becomes active. A district may instead use its own agreement or the Student Data Privacy Consortium's National Data Privacy Agreement. Wherever a district's agreement conflicts with these Terms, the agreement controls for that district's students.
Under the agreement, Melodash acts as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), under the district's direct control, and uses students' information only to provide the educational service to that district: never for advertising, never sold, never used to build profiles for any other purpose, and never passed on except to the service providers listed in the agreement. Where a district consents for students under 13 in place of their parents, as the COPPA Rule allows for services used only for a school's benefit, the district can review that information and have it deleted. In Nevada, Melodash also follows NRS 388.281 to 388.296 for school service providers; the agreement contains Melodash's plain-language disclosure and its plan for the security of pupil data.
How a student joins a class
Every student in a class is there on one of three grounds, and a teacher sees nothing about a student until one of them applies:
- The district's agreement. The teacher's district has an active agreement. Students join with the class code or a login card.
- A parent's permission. Without a district agreement (for example, a private studio, or before the district has signed), a student under 18 who enters a class code waits until a parent says yes in Melodash. The parent sees exactly what will be shared with the teacher, and why, and can withdraw permission at any time, which takes the child out of the class and deletes what that teacher added about them. This is the parent's written consent under FERPA.
- Their own say-so. A student 18 or older may join a class themselves.
Students who joined a class before school agreements existed (November 2026) keep working for 1 day after this change; after that they wait for the district's agreement or a parent's permission like anyone else.
Parents of students in a class
A parent who links to a child with the child's family code sees that child's information right away only while the child is in no class. Once a child is in a teacher's class, a parent sees nothing, and gets no emails about the child, until the child's teacher confirms that person is the child's parent or guardian (the teacher sees the parent's name and email address to do this). A parent who made the child's profile in Melodash is confirmed from the start.
Parents of any student, and students 18 or older, may review the information Melodash holds about the student and ask for it to be corrected, through the school or by writing to support@melodash.com. When a district asks, Melodash deletes a student's information within 30 days.
If student information is ever exposed
If we learn that a student's information was, or may have been, accessed or disclosed without authorization, we tell the school district immediately and in any case within 72 hours, and help it notify families; for students who are not in a district class, we tell the parent or the student directly, as the law requires.
Melodash gives teachers a printable family letter that explains the app and gives a contact for questions. We encourage teachers to send it home.
Tools teachers use with their own students
An approved teacher can do the following, only for students in the teacher's own classes:
- Write short notes to a student about the student's practice, in general or about one practice session. Notes are plain text (no links, no pictures), up to 500 characters and no more than 20 a day to one student. The student and the student's linked parents can read them, and so can the student's current teachers. Students cannot reply. A teacher can delete their own notes. Notes are also emailed to the student's linked parents (and to a student 13 or older with an email address) about 10 minutes after they are written, unless they have turned this off (see section 7).
- Set a weekly practice goal (practice days, minutes, or both) for a class or for one student. The student sees the goal and their progress, and the teacher sees who reached it.
- Review practice a student adds by hand. The teacher can approve it, so it counts like timed practice, or mark it not approved, so it is left out of the teacher's totals and reports. The student still sees the entry in their own log, with its status.
- Correct a wrongly entered age group, worked out from a birth month and year that is not stored. A teacher can only move a student to a younger age group; only a parent (or Melodash, on a parent's or school's request) can move a child to an older one. Each correction is logged with who made it.
School and district reports
Approved teachers can see a report on music practice across all the classes at their school, and a district music lead named in the district's signed agreement can see the same for every school in their district. A teacher sees colleagues' classes in the school report only while the district's agreement is active; otherwise the report shows only the teacher's own classes. The reports show totals only, such as how many students practiced, minutes practiced, practice days and challenge rounds, by class, by instrument family and week by week. No student's name or Stage Name ever appears in a report. A class or school with fewer than 5 students shows only its size, with no figures, except a teacher's own classes. Practice marked not approved is left out. Reports can be printed or downloaded as a spreadsheet for school use; the same rules as the rest of this section apply to them.
What teachers agree to
- Use roster labels (for example, "Ava R." or "Seat 3") only to recognize your own students, and keep login cards private.
- Do not share students' information outside your class or school, and do not put students' real names into any Melodash field other than the private roster label.
- Re-roll a student's Stage Name if classmates work out whose it is.
- Remove students who leave your class. Removing a class-code student deletes that account and everything in it.
- Keep notes to students about their music practice, kind and professional, and never put another student's information in them.
- Use school and district reports only for school purposes, and do not try to work out individual students from them.
5. Accounts, sign-in and security
| Account | Signs in with | Email held? |
|---|---|---|
| Class-code student | Class code or QR login card, plus a picture password | No |
| Child profile (under 13) | Login code and picture password on the family's device | No |
| Teen or adult player | Email address or Google sign-in | Yes, kept private and shown masked |
| Parent | Email address or Google sign-in | Yes, kept private |
| Teacher | School email address, approved by Melodash | Yes, kept private |
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details and login cards private and for what happens on your account. Tell us right away at support@melodash.com if you think someone else has used it.
To protect accounts, a login card rests for five minutes after five wrong tries, a classroom device signs out after 20 minutes without use, a login-card session lasts up to 12 hours, and a family-device session lasts up to 30 days. On a shared device, always sign out when you finish.
Who helps us run Melodash. We use a small number of companies to provide the Service, under their terms and security commitments: Clerk (sign-in), Render (hosting), Neon (our database), Cloudflare (website delivery, and storage of the printed-music and accompaniment files teachers choose to upload for Practice With Piano; never any student audio) and Resend (email). They handle information only to run Melodash for us. We do not give them, or anyone, children's information for their own use.
How we protect information. We use encryption in transit, picture passwords that are stored as protected codes and limited in how many times they can be tried, signed sessions that expire, and a logged record each time an administrator looks up an account. We keep a written information security program and review it at least once a year. No system is perfectly secure; if a security incident affects your information, we will tell affected users, parents and schools as the law requires.
One person, one account. Do not sell, trade or share an account, and do not create accounts with automated tools.
6. The microphone and listening (no recordings)
Listening while you play
Melodash needs your device's microphone to hear you play. Your browser or device asks your permission first, and you can turn it off at any time in your device settings. Without it, the listening games and "heard" practice minutes will not work, but the rest of Melodash will.
- What happens to the sound: it is analyzed on your device, moment by moment, to find notes, pitch, timing and whether playing is happening. It is not recorded, saved, uploaded or listened to by anyone.
- What we keep: only the results, for example a score, stars, the notes you hit and "heard" practice minutes. In ghost races, other players see the note-by-note grades and timing of your best run, never any sound.
- Background sounds: the microphone may pick up voices or other sounds in the room while you play. They are analyzed the same way and are not kept.
No recordings, ever
Melodash has no recording feature. Nobody, at any age, can record themselves or anyone else in Melodash, and no audio of a player is ever saved, uploaded, sent to us or shared with a teacher, parent or other player. Any recordings made with an earlier version of Melodash have been permanently deleted.
Teachers may upload music for their students to play along with in Practice With Piano (for example an accompaniment track). These uploads must be music only, never recordings of students.
Automatic scores
Scores, stars, "heard" minutes and other feedback come from automatic sound analysis. They can be wrong, for example in a noisy room, and they are a practice aid, not a grade (see section 11).
7. Community rules
Melodash is a kind, encouraging place. By using it, you agree to these rules.
How players appear
- Stage Names only. Stage Names are generated from reviewed musical words and safe numbers. You choose from suggestions, or (13 and older) pick words from the same lists. You can change your Stage Name once a season, and your teacher can change it at any time. A Stage Name must never be used to reveal who someone is.
- Reactions only. Players may send only the preset positive reactions (such as Bravo! and Keep it up!), up to 20 a day and one per player on each board each day. There are no negative reactions. Any player, or their parent or teacher, can turn off receiving reactions.
- Reporting. If a Stage Name seems unkind or gives away who someone is, tap it and report it. The name is hidden right away until an administrator reviews it.
Competitions
Boards, leagues, Showcases, Consort battles, seasons and the Festival of Cantara are for fun and encouragement. They are free, and every reward is part of the game: a title, badge, banner or avatar item with no money value. There are never cash or physical prizes. Players compete only within their own division. A parent or teacher can switch a child to class boards only, and anyone can choose not to compete without losing progress.
Emails
Practice reminders and the weekly recap. Players and parents can choose to receive practice reminders and a weekly practice recap by email. These are off until you turn them on, are always supportive, and can be turned off at any time.
Notices. Melodash also sends a few short emails about things that happen to your own account or your own child, each of which can be turned off in Connect → Emails from Melodash or with the link at the bottom of every one:
- When a teacher writes a note to a student, the note is emailed to the student's linked parents and, for a student 13 or older with an email address, to the student (unless they have already read it in Melodash). Several notes written close together arrive in one email.
- When a student passes a Mock Audition or a Listening Trial and earns its title for the first time, their linked parents get a short note.
- A teacher can choose to receive the school practice report, and a district music lead the district report, every week or every month. These are off until turned on, and they show totals only, never a student's name.
For a player under 13, no email ever goes to the child: reminders, recaps and notices go only to a linked parent. Emails are sent through Resend (see section 5) and contain no advertising.
You agree not to
- Try to find out or reveal another player's real name, school, age or location, or try to contact or meet a player outside Melodash.
- Bully, threaten or embarrass anyone, including through Stage Names, team names or reports.
- Cheat: play a recording or another device instead of your instrument, use software to fake notes or practice minutes, or exploit bugs. We may remove scores, titles or rewards earned unfairly.
- Copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or overload the Service, get around its security or age protections, or access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Use Melodash for anything illegal, or to advertise or sell anything.
We may warn, pause or close an account that breaks these rules. For a child's account, we will tell the parent or teacher. If we believe a child may be in danger, we may contact the appropriate authorities.
8. The game: Resonance, ranks, homes and rewards
In Melodash you earn Resonance, levels, ranks (Apprentice to Maestro), lanterns, homes, furnishings, titles, badges, creatures, avatar items and other game rewards ("Game Rewards") by practicing.
- Earned by playing, never bought. Game Rewards come only from practice. Money never improves a musical score or a place on a board.
- No gambling mechanics. Melodash has no loot boxes, no random paid rewards and no paid chances.
- No money value. Game Rewards are a license to use parts of the game, not property. They cannot be sold, traded, transferred or exchanged for money or anything outside Melodash.
- Kept for good. Levels, ranks and homes only go up, and missing a day never takes them away. We may change how the game works (for example, how much practice a level needs), but such a change will not take away a rank or home a player has already earned.
- Fair play. If Game Rewards were earned by cheating or through a bug, we may correct them.
The world of Cantara, its story and its characters are fiction made for children. Its creatures are always "freed," never defeated.
9. Purchases
Melodash is free, and nothing in it is for sale today. If we ever offer optional paid products (for example, a teacher subscription, a school license or extra practice packs), we will update these Terms before they start, and these rules will apply:
- Adults pay, children don't. Only an adult (18 or older) may buy anything. A child will never be able to make a purchase in Melodash, and we will never prompt a child to ask a parent to buy something.
- Clear prices. Every price will be shown before you pay, with what is included, how long it lasts and whether it renews, and you will be able to cancel online at any time.
- The core game stays free for students, and nothing for sale will ever change a musical score or a place on a board.
- Any sponsored content or store link will be clearly labeled, and child and student accounts will never be shown links that leave Melodash to buy something.
10. Content and intellectual property
Ours. Melodash, Cantara, their names, logos, characters, artwork, original exercises and music, software and design belong to Narralife, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms, for your own practice or, for teachers, for teaching your classes. You may not copy, sell, distribute or build other products from it. Teachers may print login cards, family letters and class reports for classroom use.
Music in Melodash. The exercises and pieces in Melodash are original works written for Melodash, traditional folk melodies, or works in the public domain.
Yours. You keep any rights you have in what you create. Players add only choices from fixed lists (Stage Names, avatars, team names, room arrangements) and practice results. You give us permission to store and process these only to run Melodash for you. Teachers may add roster labels, class names, assignments, comments and music uploads for Practice With Piano, which we use only to run Melodash for that class.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely, without owing you anything.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something in Melodash infringes your copyright, send a notice to Narralife, LLC, Attn: Copyright Agent, 7260 W Azure Dr, Ste 140 PMB 3024, Las Vegas, NV 89130, or to support@melodash.com, including:
- your name, address, phone number and email address;
- the work you believe was infringed;
- where it appears in Melodash;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and
- your physical or electronic signature.
11. Practice safely
Playing an instrument is physical work. Warm up, take breaks, stop if anything hurts, and keep the volume of headphones and speakers safe for your hearing. Melodash never rewards practicing for hours on end; daily limits on points exist for that reason.
- Not a substitute for a teacher. Melodash and its in-game guides (such as Vivian) are an automated part of the app, not a human music teacher. They do not replace lessons, and a guide in Melodash will never claim to be a person.
- Not medical advice. Melodash does not diagnose or treat hearing, breathing, voice, posture, injury or any other health condition. If you have pain, dizziness, hearing trouble or a health concern, stop and talk to a doctor, and follow your teacher's guidance.
- Scores are estimates. Scores, stars, practice minutes, readiness and other feedback come from automatic analysis. They can be wrong and should not be the only basis for a grade, chair placement, audition decision or similar judgment.
- Be aware of your surroundings while you play, and keep instruments and devices safe.
- Motion. Melodash avoids rapid flashing and follows your device's "reduce motion" setting. If you are sensitive to light or motion, use that setting and take breaks.
12. Other services, accessibility and changes to Melodash
Other services. Melodash relies on the companies named in section 5, and its apps may be offered through Apple's App Store and Google Play, whose own terms also apply to your use of their services.
Accessibility. We want every student to be able to play. Melodash uses large tap targets, does not rely on color alone, follows "reduce motion," and offers read-aloud for story scenes. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. If something does not work for you, write to support@melodash.com and we will work with you on it.
Availability. We work hard to keep Melodash running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during updates or outages. When you are signed in, your progress is saved to the cloud and follows you to other devices.
Changes. Melodash is a growing game. We may add, change or remove features. We will never change the promises in section 2 to reduce your privacy without the notice and consent described there.
Where Melodash is offered. Melodash is operated from the United States and designed for users in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you are responsible for following your local laws.
13. Ending an account, keeping and deleting information
You can leave at any time. Child profiles and class-code students can be deleted right in Melodash. To delete any other account, write to support@melodash.com from the account's email address, and we will delete it within 30 days.
| Account | Who can delete it |
|---|---|
| Child profile | The parent, in Melodash or with the link in the consent email |
| Class-code student | The teacher, in Melodash (removing the student from the class deletes the account), or the school |
| Teen or adult player | The player, and for a teen, also the parent, by writing to support@melodash.com |
| Teacher or parent | That person, by writing to support@melodash.com |
What deletion does. Deleting an account removes its personal information and practice data from our live systems right away. Copies in our database provider's automatic backups expire within 30 days. For the rest of the current season, the player's place on a board shows as "A former player." Hall of Fame entries keep only a Stage Name and avatar, with no link to any person.
How long we keep children's information. We keep it only as long as needed to provide Melodash for the reason it was collected:
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| A child's profile, settings and practice progress | While the account is in use. A login-card or child account with no activity for 24 months is deleted automatically, with everything in it. |
| Weekly and monthly board tallies and practice rounds | About 14 weeks, then deleted, except a player's earned titles and best ranks |
| A parent's consent record | While the child's profile exists; if consent is cancelled, we keep only a record that it was cancelled, with no information about the child |
| Roster labels | Until the student leaves the class |
| A parent's permission for a class (the statements they agreed to, and when) | While the child is in that class; if it is withdrawn, only a record that it was withdrawn |
| A student waiting to join a class | Until they join, the teacher or a parent removes the request, or the class is deleted |
| A school district's students' information, when its agreement ends | Deleted within 30 days: login-card accounts entirely, and everything the district's teachers added about students with their own accounts |
| A district's signed agreement (names, titles and dates of the signers) | While it is active and for 7 years after it ends, as proof of what was agreed; it holds no student information |
| Teachers' notes to a student | Until the teacher deletes them or the student's account is deleted |
| Weekly practice goals, and a teacher's approval of hand-added practice | Until the teacher changes or removes them, or the student's account is deleted |
| A record of an age-group correction (who changed it, from which group to which, and when; never a birth date) | Kept in our administrator log, which protects accounts from mistakes and misuse |
Get a copy of your data. A player, a parent (for their child) or a school (for its class-code students) can ask for a copy of the information we hold by writing to support@melodash.com. We will send it within 30 days.
When we may end an account. We may pause or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts others at risk, or that the law requires us to close. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell the account holder (or, for a child, the parent or teacher) and explain why. If we ever shut down Melodash, we will give at least 60 days' notice and a way to get a copy of your data first.
Sections that by their nature should continue after an account ends (including 8, 10, 14 and 15) do.
14. Disclaimers, limits of liability and indemnity
Provided "as is." We work hard to make Melodash helpful, safe and accurate. But to the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that Melodash will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will make anyone a better musician.
Limit of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, Narralife, LLC and its owners, employees and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to US $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.
What these limits do not cover. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any right a consumer has under law that cannot be waived. Some states do not allow certain exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnity. If you are an adult, a teacher or a school, you agree to defend and hold Narralife, LLC harmless from claims arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service, including a teacher using Melodash with students in a way their school or district has not allowed. This paragraph does not apply to children.
15. Disputes and general terms
Talk to us first. Most problems can be solved quickly. Before starting any legal claim, write to support@melodash.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
Governing law and courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any claim that is not resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts. Either side may bring an eligible claim in small claims court. We do not require arbitration, and we do not ask you to give up the right to join a group claim.
Schools and public agencies. If the law that governs a public school or district requires different terms on governing law, liability or indemnity, the terms of that school's signed agreement with us apply instead.
General.
- These Terms and any written agreement you sign with us are the whole agreement about the Service.

- If we do not enforce part of these Terms right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.

- If these Terms are translated, the English version controls.
16. Changes to these Terms, and how to reach us
Changes. We may update these Terms as Melodash grows or the law changes, and we will change the date at the top. For an important change, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect and email teachers, parents and adult players. For children's accounts, we tell the parent or teacher. If you keep using Melodash after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply. If a change would use children's information in a new way, we will first get the consent the law requires.
